Overview:
We developed a groundbreaking, cost-effective, protein expression plant-based platform to produce growth factors (GFs) for use in cultivated meat (CM).
Advantages of our technology:
Existing production technologies and infrastructures are not suitable for providing growth factors in sufficient production volumes and at costs low enough to support commodity-scale production of cultivated meat. By using tobacco plants grown in open fields as self-sustained, renewable energy-driven “bioreactors”, combined with a novel purification method, our technology enables unparalleled production scale of complex proteins. Our disruptive technology overcomes the limitations of traditional methods and places the cost of GF production at <1$/gram.

Our business model:
Cell-Ag industry aims to replace animal products (such as meat, diary, eggs, seafood, leather and many more) currently amounting over $3T. Conservative market assessments such as McKinsey’s estimate that the cultivated meat market by itself will reach $25B by 2030. BioBetter is positioned to become the preferred solution for major CM companies. The company also aims to form strategic partnerships with major media suppliers and distributors.
