Overview:
Mobile biorefinery to thermochemical process for residual biomass (WWTP, sludge, manure, harvest, urban, food waste, and industrial) to produce biofuels, H2, biochar and syngas to energy uses (heat and power) and root matherials for agricultural insumes.
Advantages of our technology:
The residual biomass is transformed into a thermolysis reactor where it decomposes due to the effect of high temperatures, pressures and controlled flows, releasing the volatile matter that condenses and catalyzes in the form of bio-oils. Synthesis gas is generated in the pyrolysis and gasification phases, and biochar is produced. The main advantages are: a mobile plant that can be moved for waste treatment at the source, modular capacity in containers with a capacity of up to 25 tons/day, versatility to process heterogeneous waste from very wet to dry, with low energy content. It avoids greenhouse gases after replacing landfills and retains carbon. The plant can be remotely controlled by an IoT system and self-programming by incorporating AI. Its design was conceived for isolated communities, and with difficulties to dispose of waste, as well as agroindustry and food industries where the waste can be processed locally. The products of the mobile biorefinery comply with circular economy principles as they are locally recovered and reused. The simplification of its design makes it have a low CAPEX and OPEX, with competitive values to sell turnkey or offer the service of renting and waste treatment.
Our business model:
The business model is to rent the plant and/or charge per ton of waste processed. This avoids having entry barriers due to the client's investment capacity and ensures the operation and maintenance of greater efficiency by BIOTERMICA. The products obtained from the mobile bio refinery can be sold to a third party or incorporated into the flow of materials and customer energy, where it is proposed to share profits and savings from the use of these bio products. In other words, there are three incomes: waste treatment, saving of materials and sale of bioproducts. Rental contracts range from 5 to 10 years. For the investor, the repayment periods are less than 3 years, the IRR is greater than 20%, it is planned to increase the number of plants in operation starting with 15 the first year until reaching 240 in year 5. The investment for the first year is of USD$1.8 million.
Our aim for business:
[Target department / division/ companies]
R&D, Business development. The profile of the companies we want are SMEs dedicated to robotics for technical alliances and companies dedicated to small-scale waste treatment for commercial alliances.
